Is this the end for the 'Hitman'?

Battered, pummelled and beaten. Not words usually associated with Ricky Hatton, but in the early hours of Sunday morning that’s exactly what happened to Britain’s best loved boxer.

The ‘Hitman’ was, quite frankly, destroyed by Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas and could now be forced into an early retirement. Hatton was floored twice in the first round, before a vicious left hand knocked the Brit out with just a second of round two remaining.

The victory reinforces Pacquiao as the pound-for-pound king and almost guarantees a super fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. later on this year. The defeat leaves few options for the ‘Hitman’, who has now lost two huge fights against Manny and Mayweather in Vegas.
