They huffed and puffed and eventually blew the US door down, but not after one almighty scare!

Brazil came back from 2 goals down to win the Confederations Cup in dramatic style last night.

Early goals from Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan gave the USA a shock 2-0 lead at half-time in South Africa.

However, Brazil found their rhythm in the second half and when Luis Fabiano reduced the deficit in 46th minute there was a sense of inevitability about proceedings.

Fabiano equalised for the South Americans with 15 minutes remaining and Lucio sealed the 3-2 victory in the 85th minute.

Brazil coach Dunga was never in doubt that his side would not win retain their Confederations Cup crown “To overcome a 2-0 deficit is never easy, but if you have committed players that never give up, you always have a chance and we showed that tonight.”

“Being two goals down after 27 minutes, they were still sure of themselves. We were very determined and simply wanted to win.”

“The US has always had a competitive team. They are a very tactical team, very disciplined and very physical team. It’s always difficult to beat them.” concluded Dunga.
