Football according to Noel Gallagher

'If I were in the Beatles, I'd be a good George Harrison.'

'If I were in the Beatles, I'd be a good George Harrison.'

Ok, Noel Gallagher might not be a sportsman, but he is a sports fan and that’s good enough for us at HS Towers. The Man City supporter split from Oasis last week, but a job as a football pundit beckons if the guitarist fails to kiss and make-up with his kid brother.

We round up a selection of Noel’s best quotes –

‘I don’t like John Terry and I never have… He’s got funny eyes and he’s a cry baby… He’s also a Cockney and he’d absolutely be coming just for the money.’ – Noel on England captain John Terry joining Man City.

‘I would give him a big kiss. And I’d say ‘you know what, Sven? Take him to the cleaners’.’ – Noel on City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson who faces the axe by owner Thaksin Shinawatra.

‘It’s nice to know every gallon of petrol a Man U fan buys will be going into Man City’s transfer kitty’ – Noel on Man City’s transfer funds.

‘It looks like the Lazio badge with that eagle on it. The last badge had a little ship on it going down the Manchester Ship Canal and the rose of Lancashire. When was the last time you saw an eagle in Manchester?’ – Noel on the new Man City club badge.

‘It’s true. I think he phoned our management office. There’s no way he’s ever getting them. He scored against City on his debut.’ - Noel explains why Ryan Giggs did not get complimentary tickets to Oasis Maine Road gig.

‘I don’t want those scally City fans round at my house putting my windows in when City are in the Third Division and blaming it all on me.’ – Noel responds to suggestions he should become Man City chairman.

Noel’s last ever Man City interview before leaving Oasis. Hopefully not his last…
