Tom Hicks Jnr : On his way out of Anfield

And the award for outstanding achievement in Public Relations goes to Tom Hicks Jnr. Take a bow fella.

The year is only 11 days long, but Hicks Jnr has already made a serious case for winning ‘Prat of 2010’ with his ridiculously ill mannered comments to a die hard Liverpool fan

The Liverpool director was sent an e-mail by Reds fan Stephen Horner, which linked to an article in the Liverpool Echo that analysed and explored the challenges facing Rafa Benitez.

Hicks took immediate offence to the e-mail and fired one back to Horner branding him ‘an idiot’, but he couldn’t leave it there.

Oh no, when he calmed down a little he sent another, this time copying in Liverpool’s financial and commercial directors Philip Nash and Ian Ayre, telling Horner: “Blow me f*** face. Go to Hell. I’m sick of you.”

Hicks was forced to send a grovelling apology to the supporter late last night, as news of his outburst caused widespread anger amongst Liverpool fans, which read – “Stephen, I apologize for losing my temper and using bad language with you. It was a kneejerk reaction. Tommy”.

The snivelling apology proved too little too late and he was promptly relieved of his duties this morning.
