Facebook + footballer = a recipe for disaster

Why are footballers so thick? It’s a question I’m sure many of you have pondered. Whilst the rest of us were busy gaining something called an education in our formative years, the prima donnas of tomorrow where nowhere to be seen.

Football is of course a very simple game and so it’s no surprise that its participants are just that. It’s at this point that we would like to turn your attention to Portsmouth’s up and coming football simpleton James Hurst.

The England U-17 captain changed his Facebook status update to the following this week:

“I hope we lose today.”

As idiotic comments go, this is right up there with the best of them. Youth team manager, Ian Woan, has banned 17 year-old Hurst from the club’s training ground and ordered the player to train on his own.
