You’ll have to go some way to find a better miss of the season than Kei Kamara’s spectacularly bad failings in front of goal for the Kansas City Wizards against the LA Galaxy at the weekend.
The Sierra Leonne international, who bizarrely refers to himself in the third person as ‘Special K’ on Twitter, had a simple tap in to give his the Wizards a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute, but he inexplicably fell over on the goal line and knocked the ball into the goal with his right arm.
The ref duly spotted the offence and disallowed the goal to leave Kamara scratching his head at how he didn’t manage to put his side one goal up.
After the game, Kamara had the following to say to the KC Wizards official website:
“I can’t really explain it well. I really feel bad for the team. A goal like that could have put us up early, and it could have given us three points.”
