Twitter tees it up and Morgan...
Another day, another footballer says something they shouldn’t on Twitter…
We use the word ‘footballer’ in the loosest possible sense of the word as we are in fact referring to League Two striker Marvin Morgan.
The Aldershot player was booed off by angry Shots fans during the club’s 2-1 defeat to Hereford on Monday and responded with the following tweet after the game.
Like to thank the fans who booed me off the pitch. Where’s that going to get you! I hope you all die.
Aldershot’s response to the attack on the fans by one of their own players was to fine Morgan a maximum of two weeks wages, suspend him for the same period and place him on the transfer list.
Apparently Morgan has expressed remorse in tweeting his desires that Shots fans depart this life, but it, tellingly, didn’t extend to apologising to fans on Twitter.
