Charismatic, first class, good looking, articulate, successful, clean and fresh – were just some of the many words used to describe Michael Owen by his well oiled marketing team when they recently published a 32 page glossy brochure touting the former Newcastle Utd hitman to prospective clubs.

Although crucified at the time, Owen can be forgiven for raising a cheeky schoolboy grin as he has since been snapped up by Alex Ferguson and signed by Man Utd.

Furthermore, the England international has now been handed Cristiano Ronaldo’s much coveted number 7 shirt to wear next term. United legends, including George Best, Eric Cantona and David Beckham, have all worn the jersey and it is sure to give Owen a confidence booster ahead of the new season.
