Has Tony Adams lost the plot?

Not the new Celtic manager

Celtic fans were given one almighty scare last week, when Tony Adams hinted that he was very much in the running for the vacant Parkhead top job.

Adams gave a remarkable interview in which he revealed that his Feyenoord buddy Wim Jansen had put in a good word for him up at Celtic Park and that he was in the frame for succeeding Gordon Strachan.

However, Jansen has since dismissed Adams’ claims as pure nonsense, which leaves Tone with egg all over his face. It begs the question, why lie? Presumably after disastrous spells in charge of Wycombe and Portsmouth, Adams felt this was the only way he could orchestrate a move back into management.

Where does this leave Adams now? Well it leaves him hugely embarrassed for starters with his reputation as a sensible coherent human being in tatters.

Check out a clearly deluded Adams below! Look out for the part where he recites Arsene Wenger’s assessment of him as “a great manager”. Hmmm ok Tone…. What ever you say mate…
