Tiger Woods - The man worth a billion dollars

Tiger Woods has become the first sports star to earn over $1 billion thanks to his recent $10 million windfall in the FedEx Cup, which prodded up him past the landmark figure for career earnings.

Woods, who has a $40 million contract with sportswear giant Nike, has 14 major titles to his name and looks set to go down in history as the greatest golfer to have ever graced the game.

Going into 2009 Woods had amassed a staggering $895 million and Forbes believe money from tourney wins, appearance fees, endorsements, bonuses and his very own golf course design business have helped him reach the 10 figure mark.

Although there isn’t an actual award for reaching the $1 billion milestone, if there was we’re pretty sure Will ‘I’m the best, in your face’ Ferrell’s impression of Woods’ receiving one  is pretty much on the… er… money.
