Woods tees up for US Masters title tilt
Can Woods justify his favourite tag at Augusta?
Tiger Woods looks set to head off as the favourite for the US Masters in Augusta today. The world’s number 1 golfer, who has only just returned from a 10 month spell out of the game due to serious ligament damage in his left knee, is aiming to win a 5th US Masters crown on Sunday.
Woods, who last Masters triumph cam in 2005, said “The last couple of years, my putting has been streaky here, I get on rolls where I make on everything and I get on rolls where I didn’t make anything. Consequently, I didn’t win the tournaments.”
However, after claiming the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, in dramatic fashion two weeks ago, Tiger Woods is sure to be there or thereabouts at the business end of Sunday’s proceedings.
