Monfils the magic man
Best moment of this year’s French Open tournament?
Gael Monfils rally against Austria’s Jürgen Melzer on Saturday, when the Frenchman produced some magic on the clay courts of Roland Garros to send the partisan crowd into mild delirium.
The Frenchman slid for one shot and dived for another as he won a fabulous point against all odds.
“First of all, well, I saw the ball, and every time, I mean, for me, like the point is never over. I mean, the ball is a little bit far, but I have to find a solution to jump or to dive or slide or whatever, I mean, to reach it” said a clearly delighted Monfils after winning the match 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
“And when I think I can, I will try to I mean, to do like the magic is coming. So I try to do whatever, and more important point like very I mean, it was like break point, so you have to jump or dive. I mean, I go for it” he continued
